Promise International is a non-profit focused on equipping and educating children with special needs and their families in Uganda. We accomplish this in several ways including: helping existing schools for children with special needs, sponsoring children to get education in Uganda, training local pastors on special needs and discipleship, and educating at the University level to educate the educators on children with special needs and best practices. We are also raising funds to build a school for children with special needs right on the Nile River!

Here are a few of the service opportunities we are involved in:

The Kireka School for Children with Special Educational Needs is located in Kireka, 7.07 miles from Kampala City. The school has been government funded since the 1980s. The different special needs serviced in the school include Epilepsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, Bi-Polar, and more. Currently, the school has over 100 students ranging from 5-35 years old, with limited support from the government. Since 2018, Promise International has been assisting Kireka School by supplementing the feeding program. Currently, we are providing eggs, milk, and beef for weekly nutrition.

  • We have started a medical clinic that serves the children and the teachers at the school.
  • We also provide clothing for these little ones.
  • We are also doing considerable structural renovations, as well as painting the old buildings.

Our goal is to construct a school for the kids. The land along the Nile River in the images above is our property, and with your help and God’s providence we will be able to reach our goal.
